SCZ London Cheerleaders

Cost: £27 per month

Training time: Sundays, 4:30-7:00pm

Level / Division: Senior Lev 3 or 4, co-ed or all-girl depending on members

Location: The Gym, Covent Garden,London 

Open to: Anyone above the age of 17 - previous Gymnastics of cheerleading experience needed

The team is open to anyone above the age of 17, with either stunting or gymnastics experience. For those who have done cheerleading before, tumbling is not a required skill, but will definitely be a bonus. We are also looking for 5 tumbling spots on the team, for people who may not have previous cheerleading experience - but if you have both that is even better.

Trials are held to select those who will be suitable for Level 4 competing and above - with a maximum of 20 spaces.

The team will compete in either all-girl or coed depending on how many males attend tryouts and pass the selection process.

SCZ ELITE will be working on one routine a year  but always working on harder and more difficult stunts, working either at level 3 at the beginning of the year, and TRYING to aim for level 4 towards the end of the season IF there is the right kind of progression and overall skill level.

All those on SCZ ELITE will automatically become SCZ regular members (with all benefits included, ie free open sessions, eligibility for events, etc..) and can take part in all events and performances.

SCZ Elite would not conflict with regular SCZ for events, Jungle Fever etc, but just offer a weekly option for those who want to do more cheer but cannot train during the week - this is why we train on Sunday evenings.

Sunday afternoons (except on some holiday breaks) in the Gym in Covent Garden, 3:00 - 5:00pm. Except the last Sunday of the month, which will be at Richmond Dance (at Richmond Train station)- this session will be specific for tumbling, jumping, motions and dance drilling sessions.

You will be expected to attend every week - therefore please do not try out if you don't think you will be able to make the commitment. SCZ Elite is a full-time competition squad and therefore commitment and regular attention is essential to the success of the squad's performance.

If you think this will be a problem, you can still join SCZ as a freelance memeber.

Maximum of 20 people in the squad at one time, to ensure Coaches spend enough time with everyone.

The coaches will not take part in the competition itself, they will be there to to train only (unless an emergency substitute is needed).

To ensure financial stability, and to make sure the project does not lose money, everyone will be paying £27 a month (equivalent to £5 per session, or £2.50 an hour) by standing order. Every athlete will be signing a 6 month membership and tuition contract.

Everyone is required to buy the SCZ Elite Uniform (which is the SCZ Summer uniform with mini skirt + unifit) =  £84

In the true spirit of Zoo, we are looking for cheerleaders that love working hard and having lots of fun. At SCZ we focus a lot on conditioning, drilling and basic technique, whilst keeping a fun and bubbly atmosphere at all times.

But most of all once you join The Zoo you will be welcomed into one of the warmest, friendliest (and craziest!) squads of the cheerleading comunity.
